EveryOne Loves Ginger! From gingerbread to Asian Cuisine.  Its Anti-Inflamitory and its Antibiotic/AntiViral properties make it a necessity in any food forrest. It will grow in full sun, but it takes a bit of shade as well. It can reach 5 feet in height. White flowers actually make seeds but propegation is best from the roots.
Every part of the gingr plant is edible. The leaves, stems, stalk,  flowers, root hairs, and rhizomes are edible and nutritious. Ginger plants will go dormant with the first frost in your area. This means they will turn yellow, then brown, as they take the nutrients into the roots. Roots can be harvested and eaten at any time.
 
Although the normal state of these plants is dormancy in the winter. We ship live plants all year round. We keep the plants green in the winter time by using extra lighting until 9pm or so, fooling the plants into thinking its summertime.
